Composite Gates Wales

Composite
Gates

The strength of a forged steel frame. The warmth of natural timber or composite panels. Bespoke composite gates made to measure for homes and estates across Wales.

What Is a Composite Gate?

Two materials.
One gate.

A composite gate combines a hand-forged steel or iron structural frame with infill panels — typically hardwood, oak, iroko, or modern composite boarding. The result is a gate that has the structural integrity and longevity of ironwork, with a visual warmth and solidity that a purely metal gate can't match.

They're increasingly popular for contemporary new builds, barn conversions and rural properties where a traditional spear-top iron gate would feel out of place — but where quality and durability are still the priority.

Every composite gate we make starts with a fully forged steel frame, hot-dip galvanised before the infill is fitted. That frame is what carries the gate's weight and gives it its life expectancy — the panels are the aesthetic choice.

Infill Options

Choose your
panel material.

The steel frame is always the same — galvanised and built to last. The infill is where you make the aesthetic decision. We'll advise on what suits your property and budget.

European Oak

The premium choice. Rich grain, warm tone, ages beautifully with an annual oil. Can be left natural, stained or painted.

Iroko Hardwood

Dense African hardwood with natural oil resistance. Excellent durability outdoors with minimal maintenance. Similar warm tone to teak.

Composite Board

Engineered wood-plastic composite. No painting, no oiling, no warping. Available in a range of colours and woodgrain effects.

Steel Infill Panels

Solid steel sheet or perforated panels for a fully metal contemporary look. Powder-coated in any RAL colour.

Composite Board Colour Range

Composite board colour range — oak, brown, grey and charcoal

Composite boards are available in a range of woodgrain finishes — from warm oak tones through to dark charcoal. We'll supply samples on request so you can see the colour against your property before committing.

Built to Last

What's included
as standard

Every composite gate from Phoenix Forge is built on a foundation of properly specified ironwork — not a thin section frame that flexes over time.

Fully welded steel frame RHS or hollow section steel frame, fully welded and ground smooth. Sized correctly for the gate width and infill weight.
Hot-dip galvanised frame The frame is galvanised before the infill is fitted — protecting the steel at every weld and cut edge. 25+ year corrosion protection.
Heavy-duty hinges Sized for the additional weight of composite infill — not the same hinges used on a lighter open ironwork gate.
Automation-compatible design All composite gates can be designed to accept swing arm or underground ram automation from the outset — or retrofitted later.
Pedestrian gate available A matching composite pedestrian side gate can be made alongside any driveway gate order — same frame, same finish, same infill.
Supply and install across Wales Our team will install across South and West Wales. Supply-only available for your own contractor anywhere in the UK.
